Pottery for gardens, birds, and wildflowers

In my atelier in the Pyrénées, I create terracotta and faïence pottery for the garden.

The roots of this work go back to my grandmother's seaside garden in Marielyst, Denmark.  Her garden was alive — filled with wildflowers, insects, and birdsong. She sang to the birds, and they seemed to sing back. From her I learned that art and nature belong in everyday life.

That thread has never left me. In the United States, I founded Green Spaces, the first green coworking space, and was featured in The New York Times and on BBC World News. Then, in 2018, I moved to the Pyrénées, where I turned to ceramics — and the birds returned to my work.

As I researched what birds and pollinators truly need, I discovered something surprising: plants sold as "bee-friendly" in many garden centers can still be treated with harmful pesticides.

My atelier then took on a new purpose.  Today, my pots come planted with Pyrenean wildflowers from small local nurseries that avoid these chemicals. They are starter habitats: keep one on your balcony, then plant the wildflower in your garden so it can spread. The pot can then welcome a new plant, and the cycle continues.

But I don't want to only make things for your garden. I want to help you create with your own hands.  That's why I now offer workshops in my Lourdes atelier. Come work with clay and leave with your own pot, which you will plant with local wildflowers. Or a bird, a small olla — something to enhance and protect your balcony, windowsill, or garden.  No experience needed. You leave with your creation and a packet of Pyrenean wildflower seeds.

In my shop you'll also find birdhouses, water bowls, and handcrafted pieces meant to live outdoors.

More flowers, more insects, more birds. One small pot at a time — made by your hands.
